We have developed the following Risk-Management Tools:
• Crop Insurance 101-En Español: instructional DVD that focuses on the basics of purchasing crop insurance for new and beginning farmers. The DVD includes three different interviews with real farmers that include a producer interview, an RMA live broadcast radio show at KDNA a Spanish Language Public Radio station and 2009 policies being discussed with two producers by a crop insurance agent.
• Crop Insurance informative Booklet (comic book like) was also developed by the Center throughout the 2008 year, in this booklet two fictional stories about small producers from the Yakima County show what it means to them having a loss in their farms, one of them not having insurance coverage compared to the other one that did acquire an insurance policy. This booklet is very simple and basic; if you wish to obtain a FREE copy of this booklet or the DVD please contact the Center.
• 2010 Resource Calendar, which contains USDA important dates, deadlines and information for our clients and those involved in the agriculture industry.
